Holiday Looks with Mary Glenn!

Mary Glenn McElveen has a way of making every look distinctly her own. We love to see how she styles her Hunter Bell holiday favorites, bringing her signature point of view to each piece and inspiring us to rethink the way we wear ours!

Q: What was the first piece from the Hunter Bell Holiday Collection that caught your eye?

A: The Amal Dress in Gilded Jacquard! I’m always drawn to pieces with interesting color and texture, and this dress has both. It’s one of those pieces that really does the talking for you, which is exactly what I love in a holiday look. You don’t need much else!

Q: What are your favorite ways to style one special piece multiple ways throughout the season?

A: I’m a big believer in not saving your favorite pieces for special occasions. Wear the clothes! I have beautiful blazers that I’ll throw over my shoulders for a cocktail party one night and then wear with jeans to carpool the next morning. To me, it’s all about the styling. Sometimes the most interesting outfits come from taking something that feels really special and making it work for everyday life.

Q: What trends are you loving for holiday dressing

this year?

Velvet! I’m really excited to incorporate more of it into my holiday wardrobe this year. I love playing with different textures, especially during the holidays, and velvet has a way of making even the simplest outfit feel a little more special. It’s festive without feeling too obvious, which I love.

Q: What is a holiday memory that you always find yourself coming back to?

Growing up, my parents always went all out decorating our house for Christmas, and I remember how magical it made the entire season feel. Now that I have a little boy of my own, I find myself wanting to recreate that same feeling for him. I’m definitely the girl who has herChristmas tree up by December 1st (if not earlier!).

Q: If you could build your perfect holiday wardrobe using three Hunter Bell pieces, what would you choose?

1. The Nolita Skirt in Camellia Ivory — I love the idea of styling this with a simple knit for daytime and dressing it up for a holiday party.

2. The Suki Skirt in Champagne on Fifth — Such a fun statement piece! I’d probably style it with something a little unexpected to make it feel more like me.

3. The Murphey Jacket in Soho Leopard Camel — You know I love a good statement jacket, and this is the kind of piece I’d wear well beyond the holidays.
