Q: Spring feels like a reset. What does the season mean to you personally right now?
A; It’s been a long winter in the Northeast with lots of snow this year, so I think we are all especially looking forward to welcoming spring! Spring fashion is always exciting for someone like me who loves fun colors and floral patterns; I crave the first day of the season when I can say goodbye to my brown puffer coat and embrace a pastel palette!
Q: You’ve lived in so many beautiful places. Is there a place or memory that always comes to mind when you think about spring?
A; Most of my childhood was spent in Singapore, where it feels like summer all year long! But I vividly remember the first spring I experienced after moving to Connecticut when I was thirteen, and how lovely the warm sun felt on my face after months of cold. There’s nothing like that feeling! I also remember seeing daffodils for the first time that year and have marveled at them ever since - they always bring a smile to my face.
Q; Your style always feels effortless but intentional. How do you think that sensibility shows up beyond what you wear?
A: That’s so kind! I think moving so much taught me to dress for my surroundings. I learned to fit in wherever I happened to be, and that often extended to how I approached my wardrobe, taking the best bits of the style I saw around me.
Q: With a calendar full of gatherings and celebrations, what do you most look forward to this time of year?
A; My first two children both have spring birthdays, so there is lots to celebrate when the season rolls around. I love making them feel special and look forward to throwing their parties with thoughtful details each year!
Q: Are there small rituals or details that make spring moments feel especially memorable for you?
A; We have hosted Easter at our home the past few years. I love collecting festive items to display on the Easter table and involve the kids when it comes time to decorate and set up. Last year we took blossoming branches from the yard and hung painted eggs from them to create a stunning centerpiece display!
