Style Muse Natalie Steen

Natalie Steen of The Nat Note brings such an infectious energy to everything she wears. Her style is vibrant, playful, and always a little unexpected, which is exactly why we love seeing her in Hunter Bell. She has a way of making each piece feel fresh and entirely her own, inspiring us with new ways to style favorite pieces and proving that getting dressed should always feel like fun!

What does a perfect day on your vacation look like from morning to sunset?

I’m no perfectionist - but a day that begins with me/my kids sleeping in, time spent by a body of water, a slow and easy itinerary shared with my people (that includes a bit of treasure hunting!) and ends with getting dressed for sunset cocktails and a beautiful meal surrounded by loved ones sounds pretty magical to me.

What pieces did you find yourself reaching for again and again on this trip?

There’s just something about a chunky, oversized cardigan at the beach when it’s windy or you just want something other than a towel to layer on. I love the playful lobster design on this Hunter Bell jacket - it has almost a vintage, quilt-y knitted with love feel. It got the most use on this trip - from the airport to the beach and back.

You’re constantly discovering and sharing new pieces—what makes something stand out enough to make it into your world?

I’m drawn to pieces with personality - whether it’s the color, a fun detail, or an unspoken emotional pull. The pieces that earn their place are the ones that make a great first impression and don’t require overthinking. Of course, there are bonus points for longevity and versatility but the sweet spot is when something feels both special and effortless, like it quietly elevates everything around it.

How do your “Notes” take shape alongside your everyday life—are you constantly collecting inspiration as you go?

It’s a constant, very organic process. I’m always taking mental (and literal) screenshots and it’s a thrill to discover pieces that are unexpected or a tell a story. My “Notes” are really just an extension of what I’m thinking about - they’re layered, a little nostalgic, and rooted in real life. Inspiration rarely arrives in one big moment; it’s more like a slow collection of things that eventually come together and make sense at the eleventh hour.
